Something I was moved by on the first day:
We were going around the group, sharing what we were most surprised by on our first day in Rwanda. A lot of people talked about how green it was, how developed Rwanda was, how much gasoline was in the air (yuck).
But what Silas (our Logistics Coordinator from Rwanda) said touched me. He said what he was most surprised by was how confident we all were, and how happy we all were. He said, "It makes me very happy to see how confident you are in my country."

Hi Lynnette,
Very interesting reading your notes. Well, HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I know it is already July 1 over there. I hope you have a wonderful day and a wonderful adventure. It was so sad to me reading some of your comments about friends becoming killers and the number of dead in one area, one tomb. I would have been very touched and saddened to see this also. Lynnette, you have a very special heart and I am sure you will touch some of those peoples hearts while you are there and you will have done something good for someone. Even if it is just simply something kind you say. It will make a difference. I am so proud of you and so thankful that my daughter cares so much for other people. I think that runs in our family.
I hope you are able to see my notes and to know that I am thinking about you. I hope you had a Happy Birthday.
I love you. Dad
